Deep Blue Theme
Master Miyamoto Musashi often referred to the void, the state of being that embodies enlightenment. I suspect we would probably refer to it now days as the flow state, and in that idea somewhere exists this Shinobi.
There is something in that idea that stands out as a deep blue ocean, blues and blacks that meld together to create a seemingly endless abyss that is both terrifying and inviting.
I attempted to capture that state in this piece. A Shinobi with a blade made from W2 steel, hand polished and blued to a deep dark mirror effect.
This is paired with a handle constructed on a titanium liner, and flat satin finished black Richlite fittings. Black lacquered Samegawa (sting ray skin) is underneath the dark blue silk tsukaito.
