As a professional Knifemaker who considers his work to be an expression of artistic aesthetics blended with practical concern, there are some milestones one looks forward to. Being asked to take part at SICAC is one of these milestones, and a few weeks ago I rather surprisingly got my opportunity.
I must admit, I’ve been hoping for this day for some years. However, when I closed down Ironside Edge Works and started up all over again from the bottom with The Arcadian, I didn’t expect an invitation to come so soon.
For those who don’t know, SICAC is the oldest running Knife Show in Europe and this will be it’s 36th year. It is also a show you cannot simply buy a table for, as makers need to be invited to participate. Each year, the show is limited to around 120 makers, with only around 30 of them being new comers. So, being asked to attend this prestigious show is quite an honour in and of itself.
SICAC is held each year in Paris, France and while my invitation came very late, with only about 2 months to prepare, my wife and I have committed to being there. This is an opportunity I simply cannot pass.
I am working overtime preparing some show stock, as well as one or two Show Pieces to wow the visitors at SICAC, and hopefully win over some of the European collectors.
The SICAC Paris Knife Show 2025 will be held on the 12th and 13th of September at Espace Charenton, 323 Rue De Charenton, 75012, Paris
The Show runs from 10:00 to 19:00 on Friday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Saturday.

I hope to see some of my European friends and clients there, and a big thank you to show organisers, Martine and Yvon for extending the invitation.
